this above blog entry was made by Marzano in response to a teacher blogger which was in response to a chapter in one of his books. quite a tangled web! anyhow, the title of the article is probably meant to startle the reader a bit as ASCD titles the entry ‘Marzano: “I can think of no strategy every teacher should use”‘. so many people in the education field get roped into thinking there is only one way or only one method, even if that means supplanting something that had worked previously with the newest version. i find it refreshing that Marzano acknowledges that there is ‘no right way to eat a Reese’s’, so to speak. have a toolbox with lots in it so that you can pull out the proper tool for the proper job, otherwise you’ll find yourself trying to chop down a tree with a hammer.
