interesting article on humanizing online learning. as we offer more online learning opportunities, we are seemingly always looking at the ways it differs from the standard face to face and it seems like the pitfalls are what are highlighted most. the above article outlines some of the opportunities that online learning allows that standard instruction does not, one of which is the ability and opportunity to engage in active discussion. as always, a sound online course is predicated on the instructor/moderator making use of the digital tools available. its a different kind of work, to be sure.
