i went through pbworks summer camp and can now call myself certified 🙂 i was hoping to place this as a widget in my toolbar, but that is proving difficult as wordpress is a bit of a pain in terms of the code it accepts. i’m all for safety but i’m getting increasingly frustrated with the ability to post html code on my blog. i made the switch from blogspot for a couple of reasons, but this continues to be a sticking point. oh well, my badge will just have to reside in this post. perhaps i can add it as a new page on this blog, i’ll check into that. as far as the camp went, i didn’t get lots out of it, as i have been working with wikis for a while now, but i did learn a few in’s and out’s in terms of security and access features. what i liked most was the idea of having a summer camp designed to teach technology to educators. i wonder if we couldn’t do the same. as a “graduate” of the summer camp i now have a year long premium subscription to pbworks which adds many features to my wiki. if we were to do the same thing in pds, offer some sort of technology summer camp i’m not sure what we could offer. the idea has merit. the format of summer camp was an assignment each week, a webinar each week and mandatory posting to discussion boards – all of these are things we could easily administrate.
